Ynnovate in China installs 2MW PEM fuel cell power plant

AkzoNobel, MTSA Technopower and Nedstack handed over world’s first 2MW PEM fuel cell power plant to Ynnovate in China.

Nedstack provided the fuel cell modules, which form the heart of the system. AkzoNobel was responsible for the communication towards Ynnovate and MTSA designed and constructed the 2MW PEM fuel cell power plant. The plant is now installed on site at Ynnovate Sanzheng (Yingkou) Fine Chemicals Co. Ltd in Yingkou, Liaoning province, China.

Waste hydrogen
The power plant will be used to add value to the waste hydrogen and generate 2MW of clean electricity. Generating approximately 20% of the power requirement for all customer’s production processes, and with no greenhouse gasses emitted in the process, this new power plant lands a substantial contribution to a greener environment.

After installing the first 1MW PEM fuel cell power plant unit at Solvay Belgium in 2009, this is once again a major step in the market for large stationary PEM fuel cell applications.
